I have 2 phones, with different numbers, under my name & account. I can send text messages from ph2 to ph1 but not from ph1 to ph2?


I have 2 phones, with different numbers, under my name and account. I can send text messages from phone2 to phone1 but not from phone1 to phone2? Nor can I facetime between the two phones?

Are these new lines?  Try rebooting both iphones

Phone 2 is but Phone 1 is not one of the devices on my apple account.

I believe you would need to associate both iPhones with different Apple ID to be able to FaceTime between them.

Are you on wifi?

Are you sending SMS or imessage?

Can you text others (non-iphones) with both of your phones?

Phone 2 is on WiFi but Phone 1 is never on WiFi.

And both phones can send and receive tests from others.

Turn wifi and data off on both and try to send an text to each other.

You can also try to turn off imessage and try to text each other too
Phone 2 is on WiFi but Phone 1 is never on WiFi.

And both phones can send and receive tests from others.  
One phone had imessage on and one didn't, under settings messages I turned on imessage. Phones can now receive and send messages to each other.  Thanks for all the help.
