Fido has a plan for $45/month 1 GB, but I can't order your plan through the Self-Serve nor buy it online via your regular website?

How come I can get a Fido plan for $45/month for 1 GB with Fido ASAP (and you offer something similar)... But I cannot order this plan as an existing customer with Koodo through the Self-Serve and yet if I try to do this on the phone you will charge me AND I cannot buy it online via your regular website?

Because it is a plan that requires a 0 tab, and to be activated Customer Care must switch your account to a No Tab Account so that you can access No Tab Plans, call customer care and they will help you with that!

Dial 1-866-99-KOODO (1-866-995-6636) or *611 from your phoneHours of operation (Eastern Standard Time):
  • Monday − Friday: 9am - 9pm
  • Saturday: 9am - 7pm
  • Sunday: 9am - 7pm

Hi Mathieu, please do not refer to our new plans as "No Tab" plans, as it can be confusing for our customers. Our plans are called Lightweight, Heavyweight & Tab Plus http://koo.do/1DOo8cA. Thank you.

Plus all the plans can be used with the new Tab, they just can't be used with the old tab.

There are no charges for a call and even less for something that you can not do on Self Serve. The whole point of the charge is for something that can be done on the Self Serve 🙂

We've already established that I cannot acquire this new $45/month plan from Koodo (to rival Fido's plan) via Self Serve. So I need to call in but a call in to change a plan charges the customer $10!

No like i just explained, customer care will not charge you since it can not be activated via self serve, koodo only charges for things that can not be done on self serve.
Phoning in to customer service, instead of using Self Serve, to change any part of my plan incurs a charge back of $10. This should be a cost of doing business to Koodo/Telus, not charged back to the consumer. I'm looking at Fido's site right now and they don't charge for customer service phone calls.

Hi Monica, since it can't currently be done online, rest assured that the $10 fee to change your plan over the phone won't apply 🙂 Thank you!

In this circumstance, they don't charge you for this because you can't do it in Self Serve. Also I understand it's rather inconvenient but their website is under maintenance with the new Tab right now.
