FAS when calling Vonage (call starts billing when ringing, not when answered)

Userlevel 4
I'm getting False Answer Supervision (ie, the calls starts billing when it starts ringing, not when it's answered) when I call a vonage number.  This is something the tech team needs to look at.

Hello Danilo.

This is normal. When I called Vonage, there wasn't even a ring going on. Also, even if there was, would you complain for 5 seconds that Koodo stole you?

I hope I answered your question right.

It's not normal. Call should get billed when the called party picks up.

And, yes, I am complaining about the minute that either Vonage or Koodo is stealing from me every time I call a Vonage number.  Those minutes add up.

especially complaining when it's likely a fixable problem.  Vonage is trying to rip off Koodo customers by doing this and Koodo could easily fix it by getting their signalling right.  They might not know it's going on.

On pre-paid service, all calls are charged from the time they first access the Koodo network and not when they are picked up. This is "normal" for virtually all pre-paid carriers in North America.

You need very nimble fingers indeed to check your voice mail without being charged for 2 minutes (1 minute 2 seconds is rounded up to the nearest minute).

I'm not on prepaid and calling Vonage numbers is the only time this happens.

Just pointing out you are not an isolated case. SNAFU in favor of the vendor as usual.

Danilo, can you explain exactly what your concern is? When there's a lady robot speaking, this counts as if the other line was "picked-up". It's always like that. If this is not what you're talking about, then I'm confused.

when calling Vonage numbers, it starts counting the line as "picked up" the moment it starts ringing.

you place a call, the call is using infrastructure, to get the call to the place you called, does not matter if call is answered same as hydro, you pay to get hydro into your electrical panel, does not matter if you use the hydro or not, you pay to get it to the panel

FAS is a complicated issue that cannot really be addressed in this Community.
This Community is made up of Koodo customers that are here to provide what help we can to other customers. We do not work for Koodo.

Danilo,  to have this looked at you would be best to call Koodo technical support.
