Apple will not fix its iPhone 6

Cracked the screen and replaced. Went to update firmware and hangs up. Found out the Touch ID has a chip that the repair did not include at repair shop. Went to Apple to get it fixed on my own dollar and Apple will not fix AT ALL. So out $900 on a phone. Contacted Koodo and they said their hands are tied by Apple cannot help. Any thoughts?

Third party repairs voids your warranty unfortunately. What you could do is hard reset : https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201559

Surprised the repair shop didn't tell you about not swapping the Touch ID sensor

Hey John. Always stick to manufacturer's warranty when it is still covered, you never know when you will need it. Perhaps this will incite you to get Apple Care coverage on the phone next time. Let it be a lesson, cheaper upfront but in the long haul such as this time it's more expensive. Good luck.
Like saying Ford Motors not fixing a Ford car. I was more than willing to pay for the repairs. Apple still politly told me, or really my teenage daughter to bugger off. What we have discovered in this journey is Apple designed the phone with chips in a few components (Like Touch ID) that only operate with the suite of original chips. So when your phone breaks they basically give you a new phone. It is a design flaw and they expected a percentage of phones to break or not work. So instead of them eating the costs of fixes themselves dreamed up Appple Care to have the Apple faithful pay for it. The shop my daughter picked prodded along by koodo staff was a hole in the wall.

Why not pay the repair shop a visit? After all, it seems to be their work at play here.

I think your mistaking an Apple design flaw for an Apple design intention. I don't really see how you can blame the Koodo store for this issue, you bought an iPhone, didn't get any of the warranty, took it to someplace that wasn't authorized under warranty to fix it, and now Apple wont touch it.

Haha, yes I guess why they are the biggest. Not so much blame as lack of passing that information on. We have taken many other iPhones (4 and 4s) into third party for screen repairs without a hitch. And to third party repair places reccomended by Koodo store staff. We thought nothing different with iPhone 6. All these cooments of getting Applecare is just insane and have lost sight of delivering qulaity products and standing behind what they build.

Apple has the best warranty service, period. And I'm not talking about the Apple Care +, I'm talking about their standard warranty. Which other phone manufacturer has a massive retail network where you can go to their store and receive a new phone under warranty on the spot? Yes, they refused your warranty because you had repairs done by an unauthorized shop, which is what any manufacturer would have done.

You should definetly buy AppleCare the next time you or your daughter purchase an iPhone
