A very upset customer...

I went to Future Shop to purchase an iPhone 5c (as the iPhone 5c is only in store only) but there wasn’t any in stock. Since then the double everything plan has ended and the iPhone 5c price went up another $125 Dollars. It has been since December 28th and my twelve year old son has been waiting for this phone, as he is buying it with Christmas money. As of now my son is very upset because the phone wasn’t in stock and is looking at other cell companies to go with such as Bell, Fido, Telus and Virgin Mobile. When we phoned Koodo we were offered a $50 Dollar credit on are tab however, that does not help my son because he has to pay an extra $125 dollars up front, and the double everything plan has ended. He would of bought the phone the first time he went to Future Shop to ask about it, if it wasn’t for your delivery timing. From: Your Sincerely Upset Customer

The double double plan is back as of today.... And you can't blame Koodo for a independent delivery company.

Hi Michelle, Sounds like Koodo should have offered a raincheck on the phone. As for the double promotion, it's back for the time being. I can't help you with the increased $125 though - would it help if you managed to talk Koodo into a $100 credit instead of $50? (Not sure if they would, but it wouldn't hurt to ask again if you explained the circumstances) Edit: oh wait you mentioned FutureShop, I'm not sure if Koodo can influence them since I think they operate independently...

It isn't Koodo's fault Future Shop didn't manage their inventory properly. Did they offer to transfer one in from another store, at least? Mobile Shop has that capability.

Koodo's loyalty team can look into Tab adjustments and it will show up on your account so you can get it done in store but that's about it. I'm sorry this happened to you but this isn't their fault. Would you consider getting a different device? There's many comparable Android models that are significantly cheaper and do many of the same functions (and even more so). The iPhone 5C is rather expensive if a 12 year old needs a phone.

Okay, but can they request transfers of inventory? I can request any phone from anywhere in the country still in inventory within 2 business days (Purolator). We can also process the agreement the day of, so you can get whatever price is promised at that time. Shame they can't. 🙂 Whereabouts are you located? Look for a Mobile Shop nearby. We're inside of Loblaws banners.

They might not have that capability. Mobile Shop does.

I doubt Future Shop misses an iPhone sale anymore than Koodo sign up. I was in there for a tv but the accessories, TV and computer departments , was gaurding the front doors during Christmas. The phone department had a full staff of 2 employees signing up customer, from a pool of about 75 waiting, sign ups. It was just like being at the Ontario Monopoly Liquor Store. Tough lesson of reality, for a 12 year old.
