Very Important!!

There might have been a post about this before. Most of you may already know, but given the internet has been out for a long time this does need to be readdressed for your own security/protection. When posting certain details about issues with your services/billing, please do NOT include any information that can be comprimised such as email addresses, phone numbers, credit information, etc. The community is here to assist with how certain functions work on the phones, ideas for how Koodo can make things better (which is hard because Koodo is already awesome) How to fix errors in the phone, have it be hardware or software related, general billing issues, praise of employees, etc. None of which need to have any sort of person information attached. The most details I have seen asked for is a copy of the bill with all personal information covered (account number, phone number, full name and address, etc.) Please avoid any sort of situation where you identity/account can be comprimised. Trolls/hackers do not make themselves known until after the fact. I would like thank each and everyone of you, positive and negative, that contribute to the community. Your input has kept, and will still keep, this resource alive. Chive on, my friends! Tyler C P.s. I used "etc" too much, i think...

There have already been many posts on this subject. Koodo is even considering changing the name of this forum and possibly placing a warning before ppl post questions. Type your questions and ideas into the search box in the top right corner of the screen before you ask or suggest & you'll see if the subject is already being talked about. If you find a subject you feel strongly about then promote the idea given or add on to that suggestion.

Well said Tyler, I wonder if Koodo can ban or disallow billing and personal informations to be edited or use Reply icon, or just warning posters from Danger of posting confidential information on a Public Forum.

Maybe a little warning pop up when the system recognizes a phone number or email address being entered. Anything really. The last thing I would want is a customer calling and stating that their account has been comprimised...

I am bumping this thread due to the fact that I have seen more and more posts with personal details. There is a heading when you sign up that tells people not to post personal details and it is still being done.

Hopefully more and more people will realize that this is the internet and that it is public, so personal information is not allowed. Thanks for posting this but we have gotten many posts about this problem. I know where you are coming from though so thank you. 🙂

I suggested calling the forum the "Koodo Community Public Forum" when they were going to change the name and it wasn't one of the considered names.

I remember that too on this post http://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/community_name_we_need_your_help, they shortened it to "Koodo Community" instead of "Koodo Community Public Forum"

The real problem is that it isn't clear enough... If you go to Koodo's site seeking help you end up here first and if you don't read carefully you can end up posting a question here when you might have thought you were asking Koodo directly. Play dumb and try it to see what I mean.

Correct Steve, Koodo Portal visitors are directed to Koodo Community if the click on HELP, right hand corner of koodomobile.com, the KOODO HELP tab on main menu will take you to the "HOWTO" for Troubleshooting your phone issue: http://help.koodomobile.com/phone-troubleshooting
