To unlock a phone...

To unlock a phone...You would think they could set up a web page where we could enter our IMEI and get trhe unlock code. having to call in is ridiculous!

I've been on hold for over an hour waiting to have mine unlocked too...FML
and if your phone's like mine, it can't be done.  I called Koodo, who sent me to Samsung.  Samsung sent me to a local outfit who will wipe my phone for $70 (if I have the original receipt from early 2016, which I don't)  Next I'm trying Google.   I don't have much hope of ever recovering this phone.

Why can't your phone be unlocked? What do you mean by recovering ?

You can now unlock your phone online through selfserve.

Samsung pin unlock can be done through findmymobile if you were signed in to your samsung account on the phone.

I think the problem was with Google, which is where it all started (I followed the advice on their web pages about testing computer/internet instructions to the phone.)  I had just changed my Google password, and the phone would not recognise the new password.  A few hours later I tried again and the phone unlocked.  It still took two days for some of my apps to be restored, however;  they came back on their own.

The whole thing makes no sense to me.  Last time I'll trust Google.

Thanks for your interest, folks!
