Multifactor Authentication in Self Serve Portal

Why is there no option to set up multifactor authentication for our accounts on the self serve portal? It is almost 2021 and this should be standard security provided to us, especially with the amount of sensitive information we have on our accounts. Passwords alone are not secure anymore. Can you please let me know when you expect to incorporate MFA into your portal?

Thanks.

@circadian Thanks for sharing your suggestion! Strong credentials still provide the necessary protection needed. That said we do recognize layering additional  security features  always help. We do have multifactor authentication on a number of transactions (SIM swap, port-out requests etc.) Plans are in place to apply this on log-in page of one’s online account in the near future.

Wonderful news. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you very much!

@Bernard Koodo hi there, do you have any updates on this?

@circadian It is a complex project. We have now also run a survey with our customers and not everyone is keen on having this feature given that some already have biometrics or other features enabled to protect their account. So we are looking at the best process balances the needs of most people. It maybe a feature that needs to be turned on by end users or other possible solutions.

+1 for 2FA!  No cloud service these days should be without it: a password by itself is simply not sufficient security.

TOTP 2FA (e.g., Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator) is a much better 2FA solution than SMS 2FA.  It’s better because it’s more secure and it doesn’t depend on text messages, which are notoriously unreliable.

Any update on 2fa or MFA coming?

when a service provider can communicate our information to the credit bureau, such as koodo, they all  are offering some form of 2 step verification, when will KOODO instaure this?

Cyber attacks are exponentially increasing on the general public. Criminals and bots are no longer just targeting big business, anyone can get caught up in a hostile take over. SIM swapping and SMS spoofing are not new trends.

As a mobile service provider, Koodo should understand the importance of enabling security features that will help protect the very foundation of 2FA - the mobile phone.

This feature has been in the planning phase for 3 *YEARS*, please implement it. Regardless of the 'surveys' (and whether users chose to activate it), it's 2024, Koodo is obligated to provide users with options to secure their accounts.

They did implement 2FA for sim swap/sim spoofing already.
