How would you calculate the monthly cost?
i like this!

Totally agree ..good idea
To calculate the monthly fee, you simple create fix rates for different options.... 100min = X price 150min = X price and so on.... Voice mail = X price... deciding a price for each options. Being a Koodo sales Rep in Quebec City i often have customers asking me * can i remove voice mail i never use it or i never text i dont need 50..... so being able to Create Your Plan, customers will be paying for Exactly what they want and not for stuff they don't need... !!! Ive been thinking about this for the past 4 months, and i honestly don't see why it has not been innovated by any companies... Is it not logic to want to offer to a customer EXACTLY what they want... thus creating an Amazing customer service experience..... witch then follows to having more new customers wanting to sign up. We already are the leaders in mobile communication for MANY MANY reasons its only a matter of time before other companies start falling !!!

Seperate different things in different categories and people can pick one of each cattegory for one price, 2 options for another, etc. Not everyone needs a lot of minutes but maybe some people want unlimited data instead.
What I don't understand is why a 30$ plan at Koodo (Telus) cost 25$ at Virgin (Bell), c'mon you're on the same network (Bell & Telus network partnership)
Exactly, Good idea. but unfortunately i don't believe any cell companies will give out unlimited Data for a while.... Some would HIGHLY abuse. But being able to chose the amount of GB we need and minutes/text and so on would be a BIG advantage !!!!

What are you talking about? They are completely different. Koodo's $30 plan offers way more.

Yes, they just suck more.

Maybe not unlimited data but I like the new double minutes double data they are launching tomorrow: http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/11/22/koodo-to-release-new-promo-plans-tomorrow-will-double-up-on-minutes-and-data/
of course they are amazing plans but again i feel that having the power to create the perfect plan for our each customer would be a great way to please nearly every one !!.... Being able to tell a customer to choose EXACTLY what they want instead of choosing the closest thing to what they need. picking either Local or nation wide unlimited calls evenings and weekend 5-6-7 o-clock !! Text or no Text voice mail or not, call ID or don't care.... 100-150-250-500-1000 minutes !!! data usage !!!!! The future in mobile commutation is choosing what we need not what we DON'T need !!! Telus/Koodo are the biggest leaders in customer satisfaction. Hearing out their customers to give them what they need, so for Koodo to create the opportunity for a customer to make the perfect plan for them and change it at will would be a BIG turning point in mobile service.
When enough customers talk, Telus/Koodo listen !!
Can't see this happening. The system is set up to read what rate plan is chosen. This would require a complete reworking/coding of the system, which takes time and money.

Completely agree with Cast.

re working the system ??.... would not be much different then changing rate plans like they did 2 nights ago.... Like they uptaded the computers for the new rate plans...same diffence ? instead of selecting defferent rate plans you choose the deffirent options wanted.

That would require different coding for the system to recognize the airtime and such. It's a lot more complicated than just switching things around.

Also, since each customer is going to have their own "custom plan", they will have to do enter in different codes and such, which will take up LOTS of time, instead of just selecting the ones that are already pre-made and available. Don't worry though! The new Canada-wide Data Promotional Plans are now double minutes and double data for the same price! That's a great deal!

All the plans could be like all the addons they are offering, no need of complete reworking. Talking about money, they steal enough of our money, they are not poor.

And the point of reposting this comment is what? but since you did, let me repost mine: That would require different coding for the system to recognize the airtime and such. It's a lot more complicated than just switching things around.
I'm unfortunately not knowledge enough on the subject of coding and such so can't argue on that point i guess. The system i use at work when i activated customers or change plans is most likely more simple, i simply check boxes and the rate plans or options are applied. I don't have coded to enter so most likely why it seems simple to me. Sorry if i double posted, forum seems to be bugging out on my PC.
Koodo had this before, prior to the move to smart phones. It would give consumers a nice pay what you want choice vs. bundled items

They do get closed after a while, but Koodo likes to remain transparent with the forum posts keeping them open for searches and the like and not closing them unless they absolutely have to.
