Advertising and branding vs. social networking for getting new customers.


Every time i see some Koodo paid ad on traditional media, part of me is frustrated knowing my fees pay for the ad. A better use of Koodo advertising funding should be redirected with customer referrals in the form of credits. The more happy customers do referrals , the better. It would reduce Koodo cash burn and increase customer loyalty. A win-win situation.

So you'd like them to promote their existing referral program instead of having funny ads? If that's the case, I disagree. I like their ads and prefer them over the dull ones of other carriers.

I 100% agree, John. The referral program is already an amazing program, but Koodo is about being fun and there advertisements/commercials bring it every time. And I find it a little funny that you're mad on how a business spends there money... That's like saying "I hate knowing the money I give to *insert store name* is paying for the owners car. It could be used for *insert whatever here*."

I'm guessing that you're not a fan of our ads Patrick 😞 Even though I'm disappointed, I completly respect your point of view. Just like any carrier we need to advertise our products and services, we just try our best to do it in a fun and innovative way. We perhaps don't promote our refer a friend program as much as we could. We'll consider promoting it on a grander scale in the future, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Patrick!
