z30 koodo

I'm looking at buying the BB z30 & just checking to make sure it can be used on the koodo network. I know the z10 is.

The Z30 is compatable with Koodo, as long as you get one that supports HSPA frequencies of 850/1900 (most if not all sold in Canada will support these, just have to be careful with foreign ones).

It will work. I'm using a z30 now. Now for updates, I found I didn't get yesterday's update (will I did on a q10 with Koodo). Once I put a different carrier sim in the z30, I got it right away
That might be tricky because I don't have a different carrier sim. Are they slow releasing the z30 updates or just don't support it? I got it yesterday on the z10.

This is totally a guess, but I assume Koodo doesn't support it as they didn't carry the z30.

I agree with Jorden, they probably don't have it because they never carried the device. That said, getting a inactive sim card from a friend, or best buy say, isn't hard. Or, use sachesi to pull non destructive updates from other carriers. Sim is the easiest way to do it. It is annoying BlackBerry is locking the updates to carriers. Supposedly the shopblackberry version have white listed pins to get updates regardless of carriers, but mine didn't seem to get it. I could have just been impatient...

I called koodo & no they don't support the z30 updates but I should be able to get them through the BB Link shouldn't I? Just have to check once a month to see it there are any.

I had the same thought, but I assume they'd be locked the same way.
