voicemail not picking up

Voicemail was working fine, now callers are telling me it is not picking up at all. Mailbox is empty.

Did ANYTHING on the account change recently?
They say it just rings and rings so they hang up. Nothing in between the time it last worked (last week) and now has been changed on the account. The other thing that has been going wrong is random days of DNS errors where the hotspot will not allow me internet access, not sure if that would be relevant to the voicemail working or not.

I had my roommate call my phone to test for voicemail before I called support, and he got through. It's either suddenly working again, or as my roommate suggested, it always was and a lot of people are simply not willing to wait the 5 rings it takes for voicemail to pick up. I went through the voicemail phone menu options but couldn't find anywhere I could shorten the number of rings before voicemail picks up. Does this option exist and if so where do I find it?

*61*[Voice Mail Access Number]**[timervalue]#+SEND where [timervalue] is the length of time before forwarding the call to vm, from 5 to 30 seconds in 5 second increments.
