Unlimited Positive Tab Accumulation

While this is nice idea I am reminded of the time at Best Buy when I got my last phone; a young lady was asking if you wanted to get a koodo account she'd give you a referral code so she could pay off her tab. If I had been 20 years younger I would have talked to her, but I am sure she did ok. If this did happen, how many would stake out by the koodo kiosk to swoop up and refer customers? Say on a busy day with a new plan you could get 10-12; then 8 weeks later get $250-$300 of credit to buy an new Android, Blackberry, iPhone or Windows phone then sell. Might become a new cottage industry and help the economy. Kudos Denis for the job creation.

I never understood why this is limited as they have BYOP 10% discount which is also unlimited. I'll +star your idea ^^.

Started this as a reply to the above thread, figured I'd make it it's own post as it turned into a beast. I'm sure it has something to do with, for the tab, you are paying your portion in every month (If you have a $60 plan $6 of what you paid goes into the tab each month). Say someone accumulates a $600 tab and then wants to leave Koodo, without getting a new phone. Some of those people would raise a fit wanting "their" money back. I've seen it happen with some Prepaid people who amass hundreds of dollars paying their $10 a month for an emergency phone. They don't understand they've already spent that money for a service and can't use it again since they see the high dollar value sitting right in front of them. If they made it unlimited, they're just opening the door for people asking for refunds/to pay bills with it, etc. On the flip side, with the 10% discount you are keeping your money, and could save it up (and collect interest) to buy anything you want phone or not. Also the tab is 10% of your total bill (overages and roaming included), the monthly discount is 10% of your plan only, so for some people the discount is more profitable for Koodo to offer as they keep all the overages/roaming fees. So while the %s are the same they really are sorta different when it comes down to it.

Started this as a reply to the above thread, figured I'd make it it's own post as it turned into ...Recently I ported one of my Koodo #s to Fido, and I knew I was loosing $40 on that tab. My options were: a) buy a used phone + pay $35... b) loose it A was tempting but choose B.

Started this as a reply to the above thread, figured I'd make it it's own post as it turned into ...If you reach the maximum Tab +$150, and let's say you want to purchase an Android phone, if you add the (+$150) to the (-$150) new Tab to buy your preferred Android phone that's $300 you can put towards that phone, an example: Samsung Galaxy S III is ($400 - 300$) = $100 to be paid, that's enough for most of Koodo customers, why they need to spend 3/4 years to accumulate + Positive Tab, if a phone life time is only 2/3 years or less?

Started this as a reply to the above thread, figured I'd make it it's own post as it turned into ...Customer's don't put anything towards their Tab. Koodo does that. That's why the positive tab is forfeit upon cancelation as there is not monetary value for the positive tab portion.

Basically with my example above, $6 of what you would pay every month for a $60 plan is you paying into your tab (sure Koodo does it for you, but it's pretty obvious that's what's happening when you take the 10% discount). Granted some people (like Geoff) would buy a phone and leave. My post was aimed at those who are not interested in getting a phone, but would want to use their high tab to pay bills, or get a refund, etc.
