tired of my blackberry, not my plan!

Can I switch from blackberry to android or IPhone without changing my plan? Right now I am on a blackberry plan. I thought that I could just buy a new android or IPhone and switch the sim card but was told at the store that if I switch my sim card it will eat up my data. Is this true? I don't want to give up the plan that I have but was told that I will have to sign up for a new plan which is more than what I am paying now. I like the plan I have. I got it at a special price and it has everything I need. The new plans don't offer the same features at the same low price. What is my best option?

You don't have to switch your plan. Just get a new sim card and use self serve to switch your service to it.

The older bb did compress data before It got to you but if you learn how to manage your data you should be okay. It all depends on your use. iPhone and Android don't compress data so you'll use more but how much more is impossible to know. How much data do you have / use now? .

Plus by not switching your plan, you c an always go back to your old bb should the need arrive
