someone is selling a Koodoo blackberry cell and how do i get a number on it if i do get it?

im not to sure about cell phones and im confused do i need to get my own sim card and if i do get one do i need to have two or pieces of ID's just to get one??

Well if you're intending to sign up with Koodo as a fresh customer, then make sure you know the phone is from Koodo or unlocked. Then head to a Koodo shop or authorized retailer and have your IDs ready (if you want monthly plans) to go for credit check and pick the plan you want. If it's a BB OS 7 or earlier device, you will need the (BB) version of the plan to access data (necessary for email and BBM). Since you'd be bringing your own phone over, you can opt for a 10% discount on your plan each month, but your Tab gets frozen. If you don't have/want to give out IDs for credit check, prepaid is available, but data won't work if it's not a BB10 device

Before purchasing any pre-owned smartphone, it would be in your best interest to ask the seller to provide you with an IMEI number. If the seller doesn't know where the IMEI number is located, tell the seller to dial *#06# from the Blackberrys' dialer and the IMEI number will appear on the screen. There's also a sticker located under the battery with the same IMEI number, but sometimes it can be difficult to read. If the seller still has the original packaging, the IMEI number is also printed on a sticker that is affixed to the carton that the Blackberry was shipped in. It's also printed on the original sales receipt, if the seller is able to locate it. An IMEI number is basically a number that is specific to that particular device and is used to identify the device. No other device will have the same IMEI number. Have the seller email you the IMEI number, then click on the first link below and enter the number in the IMEI box. In most cases*, this will verify that the Blackberry you're interested in, is in fact compatible with Koodo's network and has not been reported lost or stolen.
