I take it your new bb is not a koodo bb. You'll have to purchase the code from a third party to unlock the bb

Gsmliberty.com or my personal favourite is to use eBay. In particular I've used Zain Dotto twice with success. You're looking for an unlock code. You'll need to know the bb imei and the carrier the phone was originally locked to since it isn't koodo.

Just to add to this: once you unlock your bb you'll need to choose a bb specific plan unless you're on the bb z10. Otherwise certain functions like data won't work on the phone. You don't need to do a transfer on line. Change your plan on self serve then wait 15 minutes and put your old sim in your bb and turn the bb on.

Does it ask for the code with the bell sim inserted?

in the BB, it has a bell sim card but i dont want to use this sim card . there is no contract with bell . So even if i just want to take my htc sim card and put it in the bb i need to purchase a code and choose canada bell even if my sim card is a Koodo one.. ?
