Effective October 20, 2013 The Check Device Compatibility tool accessed by customers on the koodomobile.com.com site has been further enhanced with the capability of providing lost or stolen status for HSPA and LTE devices on any Canadian network. IMEIs that are reported lost or stolen after October 20, 2013 will be put on a central lost or stolen database and will not be activated on any Canadian carrier networks. Customers will not be charged for this service which is designed to help eliminate theft of wireless devices, subscription fraud and the black market of stolen devices in Canada and abroad.

You can check out the status of a device by IMEI here (limited to 2 queries per day): http://www.protectyourdata.ca/check-the-status-of-your-device-in-canada/
