How do I know if my card has been activated


Hey I have 2 problems. I just got myself a new card but kept my old blackberry curve. The 1st problem is that i do not know my number so i can t call customer service because they ask you to enter your phone number. 2nd, i don t even know if my card was maybe already registered at the store or if i have to do it myself..so how could i find out whether it s already been done?

You can look at your bill, as well as your own phone to locate your phone number, then you can call Koodo and have them look into the issue. *611 Option 5.

What kind of card? Sim card? Does your curve even use a sim card? Is it a Koodo curve? Options --- about. That should get you your phone number. Make a test call to a friend and ask them what your number is. Don't want to call? Text your friend.
It's not a koodo phone. and yes it has a sim because i have the sim number, but i m missing the phone number and i can t call anyone because my signal is on SOS and i don t know why, tohugh i m guessing it s because i haven t activated the card yet!?

Is your curve unlocked? Did you check the IMEI on Koodo's switch tool? http://koodomobile.com/en/on/switch2koodo-step-1-a.shtml Some curves (like ones originally on Virgin) aren't compatible. Another thing to check is that your mobile network isn't set to use 2g only or gsm only
how do i find out if my phone is locked?

On your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Sim Card. At that screen type MEPD on your keyboard. A new menu will pop up. Look for Network in the list. If your device is "unlocked", it should say Disabled or Inactive. If it says Active, it's still locked to that carrier. Here's a better idea. Who was the phone originally with? Did you purchase an unlock code from either your previous service provider or a third party? You'd know this for sure if you did. If you didn't and this isn't a Koodo phone, you'll need to go through the process of unlocking this curve before you'll be able to use it on koodo. Did you check the tool I posted the link too further above? Was your phone compatible ? Please check your phone and provide the results.

sorry.. ok so i bought my phone in the UK last year and i didn t get an unlock code for it as far as i am concerned. i ve never seen or heard anything about an unlock code in relation to my phone. my phone is not a koodo phone but has a koodo sim in it at the moment. the man at the store said that he couldn t say for sure but that it could well be that my phone wouldn t have to be unlocked before installing the new sim.

Okay so who was the carrier in the uk??????? Here is the International phone tool. Read the instructions first and then let me know if your phone is compatible. You don't need to enter a code before installing the new sim, however once the new sim is installed you do.
