Clear statement of Phone unlock policy
Many posts... iPhone. Can Koodo unlock... yes or no? Depending on carrier? Android... depending on carrier, yes or no? Many contradictory opinions stated here by experts/amateurs or whoever. At one time unlocking for certain models was available as a temporary incentive. Can someone from Koodo please state official policy, assuming the financial requirement and CRTC rules are met, before folks go running to the maybe no-so-local kiosque and get disappointed? Also, will a Telus-family SIM work on all the Telus family networks (Koodo, Telus, PublicMobile)?

Well, I'm no official so let's wait for a full answer from them, but here is the piece relating to unlocking phones from other carriers: http://help.koodomobile.com/getting-started-with-koodo/sim-cards-and-non-koodo-phones/if-my-phone-is-locked-with-another-wireless-carrier-can-koodo-unlock-my-phone

I don't understand how there's any confusion over Koodo's unlocking policy. They can unlock any of their phones (obviously, as always) as long as your account is at least 90 days old or if the phone is bought full price. And can unlock a phone from any other provider excluding iPhones. It's quite clear and direct so there should be nothing confusing.
And here is the piece about locking Koodo's own phones (compliant with CRTC requirements) http://help.koodomobile.com/getting-started-with-koodo/sim-cards-and-non-koodo-phones/how-do-i-know-if-i-am-eligible-to-get-my-koodo-phone-unlocked
Still no answer on the family phones Telus & Public Mobile. Paid to unlock & donate a Koodo phone when Public Mobile ditched CDMA and went on Telus network.

Hi there, to sum up: - We can unlock any Koodo phones -including iPhones- as long as it meets the requirements indicated here: http://koo.do/1q5gyTB. - Non-Koodo phones: we only unlock them on a new activation and we can't unlock iPhones: http://koo.do/1ld58ZN. A $35 fee normally applies but we do currently have a promotion with a free unlock (new activation only). - Telus phones: iPhones don't need to be unlocked to work on our network. For other phones, it could work but we can't guarantee that. The customer can always try a Koodo SIM card in one of our stores 🙂 Hope it helps! Thank you!
I recently got a new a new activation with Koodo. Can I get a iphone which is locked to Telus unlocked for free under the promotion? (I know Telus phones work with Kodoo, but I want to get it unlocked for my mom to use with another carrier)
