I was recently on holiday in the DR and had my roaming off, airplane mode on and cellular data off so how did I get 7 $14 roaming charges on my last bill? Look at my usage and other trips...never use roam and it is always turned off on my phone.

Airplane mode was on for the entirety of the trip?
From before you got there to after you left?
Did you maybe have multiple sims in your phone and changed the settings for the wrong one?
Did you restart your phone at all while travelling?
