What are the costs affiliated with opening an account?

I am looking to switch my phone provider over to Koodo, but I was curious was the startup costs affiliated with opening an account are. When I was opened an account with my first phone provider they sprung on me a delightful $400 charge (in addition to activation fees etc.) that was never one mentioned by any of the associates I had asked in the last couple of months.

There are no activation fees of the sort. The only thing to be mindful of should you decide to port over is that if you get a plan that doesn't have unlimited minutes then your daytime minute allotment would be lower based on how many days I in your first partial billing cycle. Be sure to get referred by someone that you know so both you and the other get a credit.

Angel, will you be bringing your own phone from another provider?  If so, you will need to pay off any remaining balance owing on that device.  Secondly, you may need to pay to have your phone unlocked so it will work with Koodo.

If you plan to finance a device through Koodo, then dependent on what device and Tab option you choose, you may need to pay a downpayment.

Lastly, there is the cost of the Koodo SIM -- $10 plus tax.
