Taxes?

is the plan rate ex: 44$ the final amount of money you must pay on your bill, or is that amount subject to taxes or other such hidden fees?

It is subject to your region's taxes and if your province has a 911 fee http://help.koodomobile.com/plans-add-ons-data-and-other-services/e911/what-is-the-government-911-service-fee Koodo does not have any hidden system access fees

It's always pretty safe to assume that taxes are extra. Aside from gas stations and liquor stores, I can't think of anywhere else where taxes are included.

Alas... this is Canada Martin. Taxes are ALWAYS excluded as Ivan said... you'll (have to) get used to it - I know I did 🙂

Also, guessing you might be new to Canada from (presumably) Europe, another thing to keep in mind is that incoming calls here are not free on a cell phone. In Europe, the caller pays extra to call a cell phone. In Canada, the receiver is the one who bears the cost (if unlimited incoming is not included). Just a heads up!
