Paying off old debt

Hello,

So I can't figure out who to contact at Koodo.
I have debt that was sent to an agency awhile ago. I was making payments to them..but then one day I get an email saying that Koodo took the debt back.
And then I get an email the next day from a new agency claiming that they have my phone debt and have tried contacting me multiple times.

This all seems sketchy to me as I have no idea where the money I gave the previous agency went...And now a new agency is claiming I owe it to them.

I noticed on my Koodo self serve that I can just pay my debt there. Should I just do it that way as then I will know that Koodo is getting the money I owe.

Well this one is interesting. I'd honestly suggest that you call Koodo to request to speak with billing department for this one. You'll have to schedule a call back for sure.

I tried calling normally first and I was on hold for 45mins, and then the koodo line hung up on me.So I tried the scheduling, its been over an hour since the schedules time...no text..no call.

Can someone over here just tell me if I can use my self serve to pay off my debt. Because I refuse for another 3rd party to take my money and disappear

Are you still a Koodo customer? If so, you could try to dial *227 from your Koodo handset. It would connect you to the billing department (during their work hours).

Regarding the callback, make sure you didn't block the Koodo number (1 (866-995-6636). If you didn't receive the text, there might be something wrong. Another method is to send message to their facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Koodo) or twitter

If the amount is still showing as owing on your self-serve account, you should be able to pay it. If it has been sold to a third party collection agency, the amount should have been removed from your account when transferred to the third party.

It is rare (I've never known it to happen) that a debt is resold to a second collection agency, especially if you are making payments to the first one.

Definitely contact Koodo billing department as described above to learn what is really happening to your account.
