overcharged on first bill

Got my first bill and the basic charge shows $45.50 instead of the $39 I signed up for. I bought the phone on the 7th of July and the billing date shows the 6th. To have a problem on my first bill leaves me wondering if I made a mistake signing up with KooDoo. Please resolve!!

*sigh*... a very common question that reps really can't seem to explain to people. This is called proration. You get charged from the days you signed up until your bill cycle date and then first month in advance, so your first bill always looks funky, but you're NOT being charged extra - it's just how the bill cycle gets generated. This is how it works with pretty much any telecommunications provider in Canada.

Yoiu didn't get overcharged. It's called proration. Watch this 60 second video from koodo and you will have all the answers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlXFWWepQ20

Best thing to do is to look at the Account Detail section of the bill. Under the category of Plan Name, you will see your plan and dates in brackets. Those dates will tell you the period you are being billed for.

The Community frontpage [i]REALLY should have a link in bold that reads "If your 1st bill appears larger than it should, click here". Then proration could be explained. Clearly, newcomers don't/won't search before posting, so we need to find an alternative. A big, large link on the frontpage [i]should help.

Perhaps something in 24 pt font saying "No, you haven't been overcharged"
