Overcharged bill

I just bought a plan BYOP 2GB and unlimited calls/text for $45/month. I signed up online so no joining fee.

Retroactive charges from joining date to billing date $6.00, which is correct. Instead of $45 for next month, I’m being billed $49.50 for the next month. These two charges are added together and then tax is added so $49.50 is before tax.

Of course, the automated “chat” doesn’t understand so cannot help, I keep getting directed to “Self serve” billing explanation - I’d like a real explanation.

Does anyone have any insights?

Oh, please don’t post if you cannot hide it. I flagged so a rep would remove it.

Anyway, the page 4 (after this page 3) will have the detail of the partial charge.

From the snapshot, I think I know what happened.

  • You got a temporary number (that Koodo activated and shipped it to you) 4days of service. $45/30 * 4 = $6
  • When you changed the number, there was few days before the new billing cycle started 3 days of service:  $45/30*3 = $4.5
  • They charged you next month ahead $45. This should be explained in the link I posted above https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/charges-explained

In the snapshot, it said you waited 4 days before porting new number. Was it the case? If you waited 4 days, then everything was correct.

If you changed your number right away when you received the SIM/phone, you can dispute the amount charge on the temporary number. You should only be charged $1.5 for it.

Does page 3 of your bill show where the extra $4.50 is coming from?

So, do you see $6 as a partial charge on your e-bill? or you are assuming?

It could be 3days of partial ( $4.5) + $45 full Momo charge = $49.5 plus tax?

Your first bill is always included partial + full month in advance

I see it.

Partial changes column is 6.00 + 4.50 = 10.50 +45.00 for next month = 55.50 + tax 6.67

Total bill is 62.17

I would suggest you  check your page 3 or 4 of your PDF bill. It should tell you the detail of the $6 or $4.50.

As I mentioned above, I am getting my information from page 3. I am have TWO partial charges:  $4.50 AND $6.00 and the Charges Explained page does not explain this extra charge.

 

Actually, I also don’t see the $5 credit for bring a friend (I was referred to you by a relative).

If possible can you post a snapshot of the bill with the 2 charges here? (hide/delete all personal/private  information before posting pls).

Regarding the referral credit, have you followed all of the steps as stated in their FAQ? https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/refer-friend

I don’t know how to hide info, here is p. 3 of my bill. In notice the top name and phone number is not me.
