Not what I signed up for

I signed up for a $35 a month plan and my first bill says I owe $50.97. Why? This is my first cell phone. Are there hidden costs? I didn't go past my data usage. Is this the cost of signing up and then it'll be $35 a month? Jacqueline

Because your first bill contains partial charges since it was not a full billing period, plus a full billing period since cell phones bill 1 month ahead like phone companies, cable, internet, etc. This link explains it all http://help.koodomobile.com/my-bill/charges-explained/charges-on-your-first-bill
