If I add a second phone to my account, does it cost me more?


I already have the second phone, it was previously on the koodo network, if I activate it to my current account, hts the extra cost

You'll have to choose a second plan for the second phone but other than that it won't cost you any more. That is if you mean you want both phones to work simultaneously. If you just want to use a different phone on your account then no charges and just take the SIM Card out of the one phone and place it into the other.
I would prefer to use same card, but one is sim and one is micro sim

You'll have to go to Koodo & purchase a different sized SIM Card which is $10 if your on postpaid and $20 if your on prepaid. They will switch your account over to the new card if you want there or you can do it on self serve.
I could use a micro sim adapter then yes?

You can, but I would caution against it because doing so adds another potential point of failure.

Well you do have to pay for a second plan for the other phone which increases the bill, as Kid Android mentioned in the first reply. "You'll have to choose a second plan for the second phone but other than that it won't cost you any more."

Are you wanting to activate this 2nd phone as another 2nd line or use the 2nd phone for your current phone? If you want to activate this 2nd phone as a completely new phone with a different number and etc. then you will have to select a plan, etc. This will not charge anything but it will combine with your 1st phone's bill which will increase the overall bill. If you want to use this phone as your phone, then go to Self Serve > Mobile Phone > Swap Mobile Phone. There, you can see that you can switch to a new phone, and possibly activate a new sim card if needed. This will take about 15 minutes. Once completed, your old sim card will not work and your number, information, etc will be on the new sim card and you will be able to use your 2nd phone as your primary phone.

Hi - I want to add a second handset to my Koodo account.  It's simply because my current handset (HTC One M8) is too big to comfortably stick in a jeans pocket, so I want to leave my HTC at home, and find the smallest possible handset for maximum portability when going out.  
Is it possible to have two handsets on one account, with both able to work without having to shift a SIM card from one to the other.  I would hope my added cost would be to buy the new handset and buy a SIM card for it, and maybe some nominal fee to activate it (e.g. $20).   ....this seems like such a basic requirement - hoping it is supported!!

If you are eligible, indeed you can activate a second line on your account (second phone with a new plan and a new SIM card). The cost will be the new handset, the SIM card and the monthly plan. There is no activation fees at the store. If you visit a Koodo store nearby, you'll be able to see all the phone available and you'll be able to choose wisely. If you need any advice, do not hesitate to post a new threat on our Community 🙂.

I think he meant having 2 sims and 2 phones associated with the same number.

...I understand (from replies to another question that I posted) that I can accomplish what I want to do by buying a 2nd phone, and switching my 1 SIM card back & forth across the 2 phones.

Are you a monthly customer? 
If so, you can switch your phone as much as you need through self serve.
I have a few phones to use and I have a sim card for each phones. 
So, if I want to switch my phone from M8 to Edge, or Edge to Moto X, I just use self serve to change/swap my phone. 
You have to enter correct sim number each time. And you have to reactivate each sim card within 90 days to prevent expired. 
Note: This is only work for monthly account.  If you are prepaid customer, prepaid sim is only good for one time use. If you switch, then you can’t use old one again
