Question

How do some people still have $50 Refer-a-friend links while the rest of us have $25?

My co-worker was signing up with Koodo so I offered him my referral link. He agreed to use it, but then texted me showing me a link he found online where someone was offering a $50 referral link, while mine is just $25.

How does this person have a $50 link? It seems quite unfair, as I missed out while this random internet guy is probably getting tons of referrals from people he doesn’t even know.

I know there was a $50 promotion back in the summer but that promotion has long since ended.

I clicked the link and it took me to the Koodo referral page and I confirmed that it was offering $50 whereas my link only offers $25.

Is the offer $50 for each or does it say a total of $50 ($25 each)?

I did see $50/each on Redit.com but not on koodo refer-a-friend site.

Is the offer $50 for each or does it say a total of $50 ($25 each)?

The link my friend sent me very clearly showed that you would receive $50. It was a legit Koodo link and the $50 was shown on the Koodo landing page for referrals, the exact same page that my own referral link goes to, but with $50 instead of $25.

I’m looking at it right now, it’s very much still active.

@SillyRabbit The promos vary, however right now the offer is indeed $25 for you and $25 for your friend.  They wouldn’t get the $50 that is an expired promo.  You can tell them that.

Seems like a strange glitch. I too only see 25 dollars. Not sure if it's actually valid or not. Ive never heard of Koodo just letting some have a higher referral amount than others.

I mean I can show you the link, it’s very much real and it clearly shows $50 on the Koodo landing page for referrals. I even compared the link address to my own referral code and it’s the same but just with a different code.

The landing page is the exact same but with a different name and the $50 instead of $25.

It depends on the date you redeemed the offer. https://mobilesyrup.com/2020/07/31/refer-friend-koodo-50-off-bills-august-16/

If you redeemed the offer before August 16, you should be able to get $50. After that date, the referral amount returns to $25.

Well that’s clearly not the case because the link is still showing $50 instead of $25 and it’s almost October.

If it’s a glitch, where can I report it? Because it’s unfair to the rest of us.

I personally think that the is person is getting some kind of special treatment though, maybe for referring a bunch of people? Which makes no sense because it just helps the rich get richer.

It depends on the date that the person completed the referral process (redeemed the offer and entered the number into Koodo system) -not the date someone sent out their email.

I am not sure which link you referred to. I  only saw $25 at there website as of now https://choosehappy.koodomobile.com/refer/bc/

You aren’t understanding what I’m saying. I will explain it very simply.

There is someone who is advertising their refer-a-friend link online.

If you click on their link, it takes you to the Koodo refer-a-friend page where it says “Your friend __________ thought you might want a happier mobile experience…….. $50 off.”

However everyone else’s links are only offering $25 off.

How did this guy manage to get $50 off when the $50 promotion ended a long time ago? Yet this person can still refer people for $50 today?

Either there is a glitch or he is getting special treatment.

@SillyRabbit Can you share that link here so we can validate its authenticity?  I will delete it afterwards.

Any updates?

@SillyRabbit Still trying to see what actually happened, we can tell you without any doubt that the $50 offer is not in place.  It expired on Aug 16th. Only the $25 offer is currently available and being honoured.

???

The link I posted clearly shows that $50 is being offered?

@SillyRabbit What I’m saying it won’t be honoured. Promo expiry took place Aug 16th.  This is the current main page showcasing the $25 offer:

I mean that doesn’t really solve the issue because this person is using the fact that their code shows $50 to convince people to use his code instead of using other people’s code.

By the time people realize that it won’t be honoured, they’ve already used his code.

His code should show $25 like the rest of us.

I agree his code should show $25.  But if this person’s intention is to deceive people, then it’s out of Koodo’s hand.

It won’t be honored by Koodo.  People should complain against him. I also believe Koodo is already look into the persons account ( they have the link) and they could remove referral credit because of his/her action. I mean I would.

I am complaining against him.

He doesn’t care if he deceives people as long as he still gets his $25, which he is getting because people are choosing to use his link over other people’s link.

Because his link shows $50.

The only way to stop this is to make his link show the correct amount. And figure out how he even got his link to show $50 in the first place.
