How can I set up a 'payment arrangement' BEFORE the bill is past due?

Is it possible to make a 'payment arrangement' before the bill is past due? I called the *611 Koodo automated help line, but it would seem that I can only set this up AFTER the bill is past due. My motivation is this: I racked up a huge bill while travelling (totally my fault, I know), and it would be awesome to split it over 2 months (as opposed to the 28 day period given to pay an outstanding balance). Thanks for your help!

I have done that through my online banking. It's much easier. You may not be able to do it via phone since it will need to apply toward an outstanding amount which is not yet generated. I'm not 100% on this since I never pay via phone. Just note that depending on when your bill comes, the early payment may or may not show up on your next bill due to the timing to process the payment, but the payment should be considered as completed.

"Payment arrangements" are about paying the bill after its due date, not before.

I believe that you do have to wait until it is past due, but not totally sure. What you should do instead of the automated service is talk to someone in our payment services department. They usually only handle delinquent accounts, but if you tell them that you have a huge bill and want to split it up in 2 parts they would probably accept it. The other option is pay one part before the bill is due, and then call payment services about the other part of the bill and tell them that you will be paying it at a certain time. If you have a spending limit plan (basically if you are suspended if you reach $200 in billed and unbilled charges), then there may be a problem. But by talking to payment service they would be able to help you with that (instead of just using automated services) 🙂
Pay the amount you can pay and call Koodo 1 day after your bill's due date. If I remember correctly, they don't accept it before your bill is past due even if you talk to the reps. Nothing bad will happen in 1 day or even a week, don't worry.

Log into self serve >Scroll down to bottom of page > Click  "Change address" take you to old SS site > Change bill type/Notifications > Choose "Email notification"

You have to set this up by yourself.
Thanks for all the replies! Dennis and 'Koodo Person': I was actually referring to the scenario described by Dave. I have received the bill already, and would like to avoid the negative impact on my credit history of having a late payment. Dave: thanks! I will call Koodo and see what they can do. 'Koodo Person': "Nothing bad will happen in 1 day or even a week, don't worry." While I think this is true formally, I'm not sure that this is actually the case. A quick google search gives counterexamples, and this precisely what I am trying to avoid. Again, thanks a lot for the info!
