help with switching plans?


I was wondering when does the double data and minutes promo end for Ontario residents? I curentty has the $50 plan with 500 mins and 500mb of data, but was thinking about downgrading to the $40 , 400 mins and 400 mb of data. Also, if I were to do this now( I got 20 days left on this billing cycle), and I already paid for this billing cycle which ends on December 25th, so would I be charged any extra for making this plan change right now?

Hi Adam, Nobody really knows how long these promos will last, so I'd not wait if I were you, I think you benefit from upgrading 🙂 How it works: it doesn't cost you extra to upgrade now, but your new plan will be prorated. Meaning if you switch halfway through the month, the first half you'll have 500/2=250 minutes and the other half 400/2=200 minutes left (or any ratio you choose) 🙂 Same goes for data! Have fun with your new plan!

If you downgrade your plan, you will get a credit on that portion of the plan price. But airtime will be prorated. So if you are on the 10th day in your billing cycle, you have total of 166 minutes [ (500min / 30days) x 10days ] = 166.66.. for these 10days. If you used more than 166 minutes, you will be charged for an overage.
