General Question

My friend has 12 days left to the next billing cycle and wants to change it to the 45$ Quebec Plan of unlimited calling and 1gb of data and the other features it includes as he knows. He will be charged prorated but how much would it be charged if he has 12 days left to the next billing cycle as he is currently on the double mins of 600 day time mins. Will he be charged the full month of the plan that he is on now and the other full month of the coming up month ? He has the discount as he brought his device over to Koodo I wish that koodo had data packs we can purchase a month and if wanted to add it again another month then to do the add on or just do without.

Well, when you've used up your data, it doesn't stop working, you simply go into overage fees which is pretty much the same thing as buying data buckets, so your friend doesn't lose out. Anyway, as for your question, your friend's next bill with proration, QC taxes and 911 will be $43.30. Subsequent bills will be $47.03 on the $45 plan. The way it's calculated is: Old plan for 18 days out of 30, so 39*18/30 = $23.40 New plan for 12 days out of 30, so 45*12/30 = $18 Add the 2 together, so $41.40 Add in the NoTab discount $41.40*0.9 = $37.26 Add the 911 fee, which is $0.40 for Quebec = $37.66 Add both taxes in one fell swoop $37.62*1.05*1.095 = $43.30 (Before anyone points out that my tax calc is incorrect, remember that in QC the PST is stacked on top of the GST.... isn't this nice... thanks QC...)

Glad to hear it's not all gravy in QC with your better plans hehe 😛 Isn't taxes just HST now or is that just an Ontario thing?

There are multiple provinces doing HST: Prince Edward Island New Brunswick Nova Scotia Newfoundland & Labrador
It is I think 40$ he is paying for his current plan
Thank you ever so much David
