debit pre-authorized doesn't work when first bill due

I set the pre-authorized payment on debit card before and the statement shows me the date of pre-authorized payment, but the bill wasn't paid when it is due. Whether I miss something? Additionally, is that OK if I pay the bill after due?

It takes 1 full billing cycle for the pre-authorized payments to kick in from your bank account. So the month that is owed has to be payed manually through credit card, online banking or bank teller. At which point, the month after the payments will be taken from your account on the due date.

Yeah that's not a problem. Just keep in mind your next months bill will have a late payment charge. It's 2% of whatever the balance was on the due date.

For pre authorized chequing with Koodo (or any cell provider) you need the branch and transit #s from your bank as well. Alternatively, you can add Koodo as a payee with your bank and then setup an automatic bill payment approx. A week before the bill is due (since banking payments take a few business days to process).

If you've put those #s in correctly than you're good to go. You shouldn't have any issues.
