Data Used. Don't know why

So it's 2nd day of my next bill and already my bill is at 18 megabytes used. My budget is 50 megabytes. I don't understand why that's going on. I hardly even use my phone for internet. What's happening and how to solve it?

Hi Duster, Unfortunately data can be used up QUICK, 18MB is nothing really. Did you browse the web? Receive a few emails? Use social media? Truth be told 50MB per month is a total rip-off (sorry Koodo! but that's how I feel), how can anybody live on such a meager data diet for a whole month?? Things to try for sure is install a data counter such as Onavo (I personally love it), and switch off any services that use needless data such as automatic app updates or photo uploads, make sure you set them to WiFi only. Oh what phone do you have? I think Onavo is for Android only...
I have a galaxy 2 Samsung phone. Don't suppose just turning off my wifi on my phone might help cause I hardly ever use wi-fi on my phone.

If anything you should keep wifi on. Since wifi is not a part of the cellular network any usage done over that is not billable to Koodo. If you want to turn off your mobile data when you're not using it you can go to settings > data usage > mobile data, you can check that off. This will turn off your mobile data until you choose to activate it. It will, however, also prevent your picture messaging as that requires a mobile data connection, though it's included in your plan so that usage is not billable.

When I went to the mobile data the box was checked already. So I clicked on it and said disable mobile data connection and I clicked ok. Does that mean it's completely off and nothing will effect it?

Yep it's off then, unless you accidentally turn it on.

Are there any consequences when turning it off that I should be aware of?

No consequences, however you will not be able to send or receive mms if your data is off. (picture messaging)
