Data usage spike when upgrading phone

I bought an S4 on oct 20 and when the girl was setting it up in the store the phone started to download updates over the mobile data network (LTE). My plan only has 200mb of data, but i rarely use over 100mb in my monthly usage. The updating of the software costed me about 130mb of download before I noticed and quickly disabled the mobile data. Now I'm close to my limit for the month and have three weeks left in my billing cycle before it resets. Is there any way Koodo can reset my data limit to account for the massive data download on the day I bought my device (Oct 20)?

That's a standard occurrence when upgrading phones to be honest. If you want to TRY to have it reset (which I doubt will happen), you need to call Koodo at *611 from your Koodo phone and explain your situation to a rep. This is a public community for general questions, not account specific problems. Just use WiFi more until your cycle resets.

I would make a call in to have the data reset. What a lot of people may not realize (reps included) is that on some Android devices, mobile data is enabled by default by the manufacturer. Secondly, the device has gone well over the 50 MB of allotted usage for return, so if you decide the S4 is not for you, even though you qualify under the 15-day return policy, you won't be able to return the device because of the amount of data used. http://help.koodomobile.com/getting-started-with-koodo/before-you-purchase/what-is-your-15-day-money-back-guarantee Politely explain the problem to the Koodo customer rep and ask to have the data reset. I can't make any guarantees, but there's a possible chance they'll see your side of the story given the fact that you are fairly new to the device.
