If you're on Wi-Fi at the same time as 3G is enabled you won't be charged for Mobile Data usage while sending/receiving Picture Messages. Failing that there are ways to set the APN but they're tricky, what's your device? Other than that, no Koodo can't block Data while allowing Picture Messages at the same time - it's both or neither.

Oh I don't think the APN trick will work on anything but an Android. I mean't you'll need 3G enabled while you're connected to Wi-Fi so the phone uses 3G for the Picture Message but won't be using it for anything else.

I mean't Mobile Data not necessarily 3G / 4G - just any Mobile Data connection from the cellular network. There might be something one of the Mobile Masters more familiar with Windows Phone can chime in with, we'll see.

Make sure that your APN is set correctly. If it is and you still can't send pictures, there isn't much you can do as Koodo can't guarantee data on non-Koodo phones.

I spent a good hour or two trying to get MMS (picture messaging) to work on my wife's Nokia Asha 302. I was constantly getting multimedia errors when trying to send or receive, although every other function (software update, Facebook etc.) seemed to be working. One thing I noticed on the Asha 302 is that, when using WiFi, the APN seemed to flip to something like internet.com instead of sp.koodo.com. I was not able to find where internet.com was coming from. So, I configured the phone to use the 3G connection exclusively and I was able to successfully send a photo from the Asha 302 to my own (Android) phone. My wife needed her phone so I didn't get a chance to try sending a photo from my Android phone to the Asha 302, but I suspect that will work also. So, beware the phantom internet.com APN that appears with WiFi, as this seems to be at the root of the problem of MMS not working on the Asha 302.

I can't speak for the APN trick mentioned, though if I remember correctly you cannot edit MMS apn info so not sure if the same trick mentioned above will work for WPs. What you can do is put the phone in battery saving mode (settings-> battery) when you're going send the picture message. This will turn off all background processes that could be grabbing some data when you turn on mobile data.

Could this be what you're after, Halmat? http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/access-point/ce3895c7-01d0-4daf-a4c3-25c10463942d I'm not sure if my Lumia 520's settings menu is the same as your Lumia 900. In Settings > Cellular - near the bottom of page, I show 'add internet apn' and below that 'add mms apn'. APN Settings for non-Koodo devices. http://koodomobile.com/en/ab/non-koodo-phone-data-setup.shtml

WP7 devices can't use the access point app as it is for WP8, they need to use the app "Network setup" http://www.windowsphone.com/en-ca/store/app/network-setup/b95840dc-a542-42a6-bee4-7d1a12f62d2c
