billing problem

I signed up with Koodo on Jan 3 and just received my SIM card on Jan 12, was shipped on the 6th. I just checked my Koodo and they are trying to bill me 12$ for the phone plan even when it was not active with them as I did not have the SIM card. Trying to get a hold of someone to talk to but can’t get through. Is this robbery or what? Anyone have a number I can call to speak with an agent? They say my bill for a 6 day period is 73$ like what…...

It’s your prorated part of the first billing cycle plus the first full month. So for you, that’s 6 days plus one month on your first bill.

But I didn’t even have the SIM card and wasn’t using the service so how can they charge me for that?

Because their system just assumes receipt of the sim card by a certain time and the billing starts accordingly. When it doesn’t work out, this happens. I don’t like it at all personally and I can only imagine how many people haven’t said anything and jsut took the charge. They’ll refund the difference if you contact them as I suggested.

That’s so silly. They emailed me the 6th that it shipped, clearly it can’t get there in one day. I’ve messaged them on Facebook. And also, the deal that was 100$ put towards the bill wasn’t all that true, only 8.85$ towards it each month, not 10$ due to taxes
