Bill cycle?

Userlevel 1
I just moved to Koodo yesterday. On self serve it says my first bill is due in 7 days. Why is it in a week? I thought it will be after the first month?? How is the billing cycle calculated?

Are you sure you're reading that correctly? It might say 7 days until the end of your billing cycle, in that case what you'd see on your bill is a prorated amount of your plan from when you started and a month in advance. That's how your first bill always works. Generally after receiving your first bill you have up to 25 days (give or take a day) to pay the bill. Hope that helps!

For example, my bill is due on the 1st of every month but my cycle actually resets every 7th of the month. There's a difference.

That's referring to when your billing cycle ends and the new one begins.

The reason it does that is because you started your service and it has a set billing cycle in place for you and where you started mid cycle essentially (even though you signed up yesterday) it does this no matter what service provider you choose. I've provided a link to explain your first bill so that helps a bit more: http://help.koodomobile.com/my-bill/charges-explained/charges-on-your-first-bill

Thanks. I understood i have 7 days left in my billing cyle. But my question is why is my first billing cycle only 8 days then? I started yesterday and my first bill will most likely come on 24th sep. Why is it not in one full month? I was expecting my billing cycle to be 16Sep-16Oct.

The reason for this is because cell phone providers charge a month in advance, if you decided to have your first bill be 30 days until the next billing cycle you'd see a month plus another month in advance, it's designed so that you only get charged a certain amount before your next billing cycle. Think of it as if you moved into a new apartment, if you moved in in the middle of the month your expected to pay an extra amount for being in the apartment earlier than the start of the month, plus a month in advance.

No problem, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to use the Koodo community for answers. Don't want to see anybody have issues, but you can certainly find an answer somewhere on here. Have a good evening! 🙂 (P. S. - didn't mean to misread your question earlier, my bad.)

I know you already say you got it but... Billing cycle is different for everyone. I don't know how exactly Koodo's system set the billing cycle for you, but it seems it depends on when you sign up/activate with Koodo.( Also I think I saw a post it said it depends on your address)
