I'm curious in knowing why does it say that I am going to have my next bill in 5 days when I just received this phone yesterday?

Because it's a prorated bill for the part month you've had the phone up until the start of your first full billing cycle. Don't worry it will be very 30 days from now on and this is completely normal and happens with every single carrier, it's not just a koodo thing.
