activating a second line and referals


Hi I ordered a second  sim on my account, to create a new line for my wife.    Before ordering she filled out the refer a friend form with her email address (different than the exiting account)

The sim is arriving soon, just wondering what i need to do when the sim arrives, so that both referrals are given (mine and hers are awarded).  does the new line have a new email address assigned to it or does it go under the primary account.  (i know referrals are email based)

Hi thanks for the help I understand the referal steps. And it says the new account should use the same email address as their account. This is where I am confused. I ordered the sim while logged in under my account. Does that mean the new sim will be under my email? Or does each sim get its own login info but still under the my account overview. I know with koodo you can have upto 7 accounts under one account. So just trying to figure out so I don't lose the referals. Thanks

You (with your email) is considered as one account. You can add several lines to your account, but won't be able to take the referral credits if you refer themselves.

So in order to get the "referral" credit, your wife should be in another email (another account).

And it says the new account should use th...I copied this from the terms of refer a friend You can refer a new line to your own account and both receive the referral credit, as long as the referrer and referee phone numbers are not the same. You are able to add up to 7 lines per account, therefore there is a maximum $2100 referral credit available per account (up to $300 per line) So just trying to figure it out

If they already said so, you could send referral to your own email (account), Redeem the offer using the referral link, activate a new number on that account and add your wife number, once she was ported in. Afterthat, update the information on the refer-a-friend website.

And it says the new account should use th...Just to clarify, referrals are phone number based and not email based.  As long as the phone number entered for the referral is not changed prior to the referral being fulfilled, you should be good once you complete all the steps

They need  the "email" to refer (that cannot change).

I believe they can change the phone number after, but the need to reenter it in the referral page.

If I set up a temporary number and then port over prior to my referral being fully completed, my referral will be rejected since the system will be confused and think your number is not on the koodo system so it must mean they are no longer a customer of koodo

Because you are using the same email, it doesn't mean you don't need that email.

You can update your number later, in the referral page if you change your number. The rule didn't say anything about number change. It won't reject.

does the new line have a new email address assigned to it or does it go under the primary account.  (i know referrals are email based)
Based on this, no, you do not need to have a new email on the 2nd line as referrals are not email based

Well, if they were late or didn't update then they needed to call.

So what you posted is confirming the process wasn't number-based. They changed the number and the referral was still valid.

You can use the same link (actually there is only 1 link per account (with multiple lines).
