I got a google pixel 3 for Christmas and the network icon has a x on it. I don’t have data nor do I want it.
I can still make calls and all that.
is the x going to stay there or is there a way to remove it.

i have a prepaid account at the moment and I may switch at some point. But for the moment is the x just because I don’t have data

As you don't have data in your prepaid plan, turn on the cellular data in the phone would be fine. You have no data to spend. However, turning on cellular data will allow you to send picture messages (MMS).

hi,
I think the "x" above the signal bar means you didn't turn on cellular data in your phone and no internet connection. You could try to enable your cellular data in your phone (for MMS) and see if the (x) disappear.
The x goes away when I turn on mobile data. But I don’t have any gigs of data so I don’t want it to be on and drain8ng the battery
