Why does my phone keep disconnecting from my wi-fi


It says connecting and then immediately disconnected...so I can't email or facebook or anything and my wifi is fine on all my other devices

have you tried restarting your router?

Look under WiFi settings and make sure WiFi is set to always stay on.

I think you're talking about Wi-Fi sleep policy, located under Wi-Fi / advanced. but this will only turn Wi-Fi off when the screen is off or locked.

try this source: http://androidforums.com/lg-connect-4g/619377-help-wifi-keeps-disconnecting.html ------Here is the solution that worked perfectly with me: the problem lies in the DHCP settings of the ADSL router Login ur router and go to DHCP settings and find the item called " leasing time " The default values of the "leasing time " is usually "Forever" and this is the bug with Android All you have to do is to change the value of the "Leasing time " from "forever" to any other long value (depends on the routers options). Here i changed the value from "forever" to " 2 weeks " and since then i didnt have any single WIFI disconnect-------

Excellent answer and it works! I went the route of making the Ace and Gio preferred devices on the router.

I have made a little bit of research and apparently the galaxy ace and the galaxy gio are notorious for this. In some of the cases, it requires a full factory reset of the phone, sometimes the pulling out the battery and sim card trick will work (but don't count on it) and in very rare cases, it is a material defect. Hope this answers your question.

Pulling out the SIM card is not required when remedying a Wi-Fi issue. The battery pull will suffice. In fact, frequent removal and insertion of the SIM card will cause premature wear and tear on the SIM cards' contact surface and lead to eventual failure. Allowing the device to become a preferred device on a router solves the problem for personal or home networking issues. You are correct, a factory reset is the only solution that will fix the problem when having difficulty accessing wireless hotspots (i.e. Tim Horton's, McDonald's, etc.)

I had an Android phone that did this right out of the box. No matter what I did, it would keep disconnecting. It went back to the store and the replacement didn't give me any issues.
