Why do I keep getting Facebook friend requests from strangers to my text?

It is my husband's phone, on my Koodo account. He does not have a Facebook account at all. His phone is less than 6 months new to him (first cell phone ever) and he keeps getting texts "so and so wants to add you as a facebook friend, press 1 to reply" They are super annoying. How do we stop them?

It seems like your husband has inherited someone else's number who registered with their facebook account for notifications on that number. They must have forgotten to de-register the number from their account, so you end up receiving notifications on their account. Try replying to the text with the message HELP and see if there is an option to stop the notifications. But BEFORE you reply, make sure that the source of the text is legitimately from facebook. Typically, facebook texts originate from the short-code 32665 (FBOOK).
