It's a want. There is no need or incentive to get a newer or nicer phone if the current one works. Don't waste your money if you note 2 does everything you need it to do.
What I should have added if there was room is,I am innondated with new phone offers every other month but  have to go up to another plan. As if 50.0 a month isn't enough. I'll take the free phone upgrade if I can keep the same plan. Anyone else getting the sam offers.?

I have received those phone offer before.

BUT! If your offer said "Get the XXXphone for $0 on Tab" - that means, you pay $0 upfront and pay $15/mo for next 24 months.

If it's with Tab plus, You will need to switch to Tab plus plan(from $69~) AND your monthly tab charge will be $21 for next 24 months.

So, they are not offering free phone...

If you like your plan and your phone, you can ignore those offer. (I know it must be annoying if you received it too often)

Check your billing history and see what your real usage is. If you own a Note II (I love this phone as well, does 95% of what the latest whiz-bang stuff offers for my consumption + more), then your balance is probably next to zero, so you effectively pretty well own the phone less a few dollars outstanding. There is no such thing as a free phone, unless it's something very downscale from your Note II.

Concentrate more on what plan best suits you. I ended up with prepaid on my current phone as a low-volume user. Separate that out from the "necessity" of buying new gear that you will have to learn all over again, since you will be jumping from Android 4.4 to 6 probably, and a very large proportion of the menus will all be in different "improved" places. Plus you will indebt yourself all over again.

Correct Bob and Dennis.
