what is a TAB. and why does it go up and down??


NOT A TECHIE..... bought a cell for my son. his contract is up next month. his TAB goes up and down?? what does that mean and what happens to the TAB at end of contract?  is this like free money or some sort of reward balance.... so i have clue on this.

OK so there is the old and new tab system. The old system had a 10-15% tab contribution from Koodo as well as a monthly contribution from you if you picked tab medium or large. Once it was at zero it would accumulate a positive balance up to 150 that you can use towards a new phone. Now the new tab system is basically just an interest free loan that you pay back and sometimes the phone is ~50 dollars cheaper or a sale price is done via the tab. You no longer get a positive balance and when you use the old positive balance if you have one then you agree to use the n tab. Once it reaches zero you stop paying and you just pay fo your plan
