Voicemail cancelled; notification won't leave


I'm using a Nexus 4 on Android 4.2.2 I asked Koodo to deactivate my (free) voicemail because I find voicemail aggravating at best and Koodo's service had been forgetting my password or missing keypresses (not sure which). I happened to have a notification pending when the service was cancelled. Now, I have a persistent voicemail notification which buzzes my phone every five or so minutes and won't go away. I can no longer try to check my voicemail to clear it, and clearing the app data only works for about five minutes. Can anyone help?

I saw that. I'd have to call in and get my voicemail reactivated to follow that solution. Right now it just rings forever (which I sort of prefer). If there's no other way to clear this, though, I guess I'll do that.

Can you call your vm and leave yourself a VM test message, listen to it, if you can't do that, I guess your next move will be calling Koodo Tech Support from different line 1-866-995-6636 X6. good luck!

Mat, his vm is deactivated. He cannot use that service until he calls tech support.

I am aware of that being that I work in tech support. I was referencing your "Can you call your vm and leave yourself a VM test message, listen to it" response 🙂

It may happen that Koodo customer call you guys at Tech support to deactivate his VM service, with no guarranty that it'll remain deactivated forever because it's part of customer main plan.

Yes. There have been times where the system sees the deactivated voicemail as an error then fixes the "error." 😛

indeed to be more convincing... lol.
You could always do a factory reset on your phone and then hopefully you can restore your phone with a backup that is on your google account. But that may or may not work. You might just be better off to reactivate the VM service to get rid of the notification and then just deactivate the service after it is done. Hopefully you get this issue resolved soon RKMM.
