Virus

I've got a problem with the phone. It appears I have a virus. I've been to two koodo stations and called them. I was told to hard reset my phone and when that didn't work they gave me Samsung number. There are no service locations where I live. Here are some of the pop ups I get. Some times I have to shut off the phone to get rid of them.

Those websites are trying to get you to download a virus. I hope you didn't actually click install now or solve now on those. Do these websites continuously popup or do you visit these websites yourself?

No, I haven't clicked on any of these. Unfortunately these don't happen with a particular website. They pop up when I open my contacts, Facebook and messenger. Occasionally when I make a call. I'm fearful that I will accidentally click on one..... especially when it pops up when entering the number for a call.

I have AVG installed and it doesn't pick up any problems. I'm not sure what you mean by cm scurity. I need to try something!

Thanks Matthew. It apears CM Security was the fix I needed.

Hey Loretta! Were you able to figure things out? Did you try a hard reset like Matthew suggested? To do so, press &  hold volume up key, power + home key until you see the Samsung logo.  By using the Volume down button, select the “wipe data/factory reset”.  Then select “Yes”.  The phone will now powercycle.  Please note that you will lose any unsaved data on your phone. Keep us posted!

I had done a hard reset a month ago but the pop ups continued. However I downloaded CM Security and 1 threat was found....and no pop ups at all today. Perhaps this was the fix I needed.
