I have a Samsung S9......Something happened during an update and now it wont even shut off....it continuously blinksfrom the opening Samsung screen to a blank screen....If I hold the buttons the only thing it will let me do it start the update process again.....everytime it gets to 30% I get an error message ,then back to the blinking screens......Never saw anything like this before.

The guy at the Walmart tried the factory reset.....he could not do it
The you would have to contact Samsung (the link is above) for further instruction . It seems to be a software issue.

Here is Koodo hardware warranty policy https://www.koodomobile.com/help/warranty-and-repair-policy if you think your phone is under warranty and there was a manufacturer defect, you could contact them.

I would try to to make a hard reset and restore the phone to the factory default/or try to reinstall the update from the menu again (hopefully you had your data backup already) https://www.technipages.com/reset-galaxy-s9
The guy at the Walmart store I purchased it from, was sure that would work but it didn't work

What didn't work? (the factory reset or you couldn't bring the phone to the boot menu?) Can you bring the phone to the walmart and ask him to do it for you? you could also contact Samsung directly https://www.samsung.com/ca/info/contactus/ and see if they can offer any advice

If you can get into the menu to do so try and clear the cache partition.
search YouTube for clearing cache partition on your specific model of phone to learn the button combitination to access the menu
