Unlocked Asus Zenfone 2 on Koodo Network?

Will the unlocked Asus Zenfone 2 work on the Koodo network? Here is the link to the specs. http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-zenfone2-5-5-intel-1-8ghz-ce-108644-1905.htm The specs with network standards are in the specs tab. I did my own research and it does seem it is compatible, but I'd like to be sure. Thanks. P.S. I see 2 questions asking Koodo to carry this phone, but there is no answer whether the network will support the unlocked on. Even if Koodo is carrying it, I'd rather buy it unlocked.

Hey Isabelle!

Prepaid and postpaid phone work on the same frequencies. As Yannick said, if the phone is unlocked it should work.

Thanks!
The second sim card will NOT work, I have one and even sent it back to ASUS for RMA and was told that the second sim card MUST be on a 2G network to work. Works perfectly fine as a single sim card phone, it's decently hi powered and it's inexpensive at memory express, but then, what's the point of the second sim card slot?((:((((....
Almost forgot, this is what ASUS emailed to me about the second sim card requirements. Technical Notes: The second sim slot of this model only support Rogers, please tell cx that. We test with Rogers 2G sim card, it is working good. The range of 2G below here. 2G : EDGE/GPRS/GSM : (WW version)e 850MHz/900MHz/1800MHz/1900MHz EDGE/GPRS/GSM : (TH version) 900MHz/1800MHz Class

Any dual SIM phone has limited capability on the second SIM. Designed for mainly Asian market customers who have a business line and need a second personal line on one handset. The mfgrs assume your business is paying the freight for the first slot, including data, and the second slot is for hearing from junior that soccer practice is over.
Hello. My Zenfone 2 does not seem to work on Koodo. When I search networks I see Bell, Telus, and Rogers but no Koodo. Any ideas?

Koodo should work on the first/primary sim card slot but it will not work in the second sim card slot. The second sim card slot is STRICTLY 2G ONLY. Koodo does not have a 2G network only 3G/LTE or depending on the phone that the sim card is in it can show up as 3G H+, at least in northern Alberta it might. Also if you can connect to Telus you should be able to connect to Koodo because Koodo is Telus. Rogers has a 2G network that you should be able to get the second sim card slot working on but try your 3G Koodo sim card in the first sim card slot without a sim card in slot two. Don't hot swap, even though hot swapping might still work, shut down the phone before installing the sim card.

Thank you Robert! Your suggestion to shut down then do the restart did the trick! Merci.

Did you just get this issue or has it always been an issue for you? Try simply restarting your phone and/or take your sim card out and put it back in.
Also next time please create a new thread instead of reviving an old one.

Hi Matthew. Please create new thread rather than comment on an old thread (this one dates back two years).
For signal, you can try some troubleshooting (reboot, factory reset, call Asus for repair). For texting, make sure you've got SMSC # configured correctly, see thread https://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/smsc_number
