trying to set up my email on my new koodo smartphone... get a 'couldn't open connection to server' message help

Hi Tony, There could be so many reasons... Do you have a connection to Internet on your phone (websites)? What email app are you using? What provider is your email with?
yes, I have an internet connection, I'm using the account set up that says 'corporate' because I have an outlook account (not google). Provider is L'Arche London...

I wouldn't bother with the corporate setup. Do it as manual setup under IMAP instead (or if your provider uses POP). You'll need to log into your outlook and go into options to find the incoming and outgoing server settings your phone needs to connect or ask whoever is in your IT department for them.
