Trying to access CBC radio podcasts. Trying to download Google Play to do so.

Site says my phone - LG-C555 is not supported. How do I go about downloading an app so that I can download the CBC podcasts?

If the apps not compatible then theres nothing you can do to download it from the PlayStore, the phone you have is an old entry level Android device and is extremely limited in what it can do and what apps will be compatible with it. You might be able to find an APK file of the app you want online and install it on your device but i strongly suggest against it as if you arnt careful that how you can get malware, a virus ect by downloading from places outside the playstore that isnt a trusted site. You may want to upgrade your phone to a newer more capable Android device that will be supported by aop developers. If you have room on the tab you could grab the Nexus 4 for $0 out if pocket at time of purchase. The Nexus 4 is a high end Android device for a low/mid range price and you wont have any if these kind of issues with it. Something to think about.

These podcasts are available as simple MP3 audio files so you can download them that way using a computer and then just transfer them to the phone with a USB cable.
Thank you both. Had no idea my phone, which I've had for only 18 months, was 'old'. I like it because it has a slide-out key-pad. Now that I know what I'm up against, I will try the MP3 route.

The LG Optimus chat is at least 2 years old, if not longer than that. It only runs the Android OS of 2.3. Most android phones are running 4.0 minimum now.

It was released March of 2011 so almost 3 yrs old. With smartphones 1 year is old but really it's because it's an entry level phone running Android 2.3 like Myke said which really limits it as most apps won't run on such an old version of Android because the OS is so limited in its self.
Hi, fyi I download cbc podcasts all the time on my ancient nokia 5800 xpressmusic. When I'm at home I go on the wifi, access the cbc website with podcasts. Then download. I did it yesterday. I don't think there should be a need for an adroid app, unless you can't get on wifi.
